As part of the Lightsource bp renewable energy initiative, Hunter Transformers has been engaged to support the delivery of critical infrastructure for the Woolooga Solar Installation in Queensland. Our role as a trusted third-party contractor is to design and deliver 1.6MVA 33/0.4//0.4kV auxiliary substations engineered to meet the demands of a large-scale renewable energy project.
Working closely with our supply partners, we are providing high-efficiency transformers integrated with Ring Main Units (RMUs) and dual LV Switchboards. Each auxiliary substation has been engineered for performance, reliability, and long-term efficiency, ensuring the site has the electrical backbone required to maintain safe and consistent operations.
A key component of the Woolooga project is ensuring alignment with the on-site SCADA systems. To achieve this, we are designing and supplying SCADA integration panels that are pre-programmed to allow remote monitoring, control, and operational oversight. This enables seamless communication between the substations and central site systems, supporting fast, informed decision-making and long-term operational efficiency.
Our collaborative approach with Lightsource bp and project partners demonstrates Hunter Transformers’ capability to deliver tailored engineering solutions for complex operational environments. Through this project, we are proud to play a role in advancing renewable energy infrastructure in Queensland, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of clean energy.
Hunter Transformers acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s first people and traditional custodians. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and emerging and recognise the continuing connection to land, water, and community.
